Prof Dato Dr. Aznan is a Professor at the Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF) and International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM). He serves as a Deputy Chairman of the Shari’a Supervisory Board of Bank Nizwa (Oman), a Board member of Higher Shari’ah Authority of UAE Central Bank, and a Shariah Board member of Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions. Previously, he was a member of the Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia (2006-2008 and 2010-2013).

Known for his extensive experience in Islamic finance and Shariah Advisory, he advises and consults, and sits on the Shariah Advisory Boards of various financial institutions, corporate entities, government agencies and regulatory authorities, local and abroad.

In addition, he is a registered Shariah Advisor for the Islamic Unit Trust Programme and Islamic securities (Sukuk) of the Securities Commission of Malaysia.
