BPMB Contributes Mobile Clinic to Serve Underprivileged Community in Kedah |
| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KUALA LUMPUR, 23 JULY 2020 – Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) today handed over a Mobile Clinic to Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah (LZNK) targeted to serve and benefit the underprivileged community and asnaf in Kedah Darul Aman. Initiated from its smart partnership and collaboration with LZNK, BPMB had funded the purchase and establishment of the Mobile Clinic worth RM340,000 from its business zakat paid to the state of Kedah. BPMB President/Group Chief Executive Officer, Arshad Mohamed Ismail handed over the Mobile Clinic to LZNK Chief Executive Officer, Syeikh Zakaria Othman in a symbolic simple ceremony at Menara Bank Pembangunan in Kuala Lumpur. BPMB Shariah Committee Chairman, Associate Professor Dr. Aznan Hasan along with the senior management of BPMB and LZNK also attended the presentation. The contribution of the Mobile Clinic is aimed at providing free quality healthcare facilities to the target groups of underprivileged people in Kedah especially in rural areas. The Mobile Clinic is planned to be operated by medical staff at designated areas in Kedah according to a schedule to be determined by LZNK. “We are honoured to be part of this pioneering initiative, which is the first of its kind in Kedah. More importantly, with this collaboration, we expect to reach out to, and achieve long-term impact in providing the access to quality healthcare for, underprivileged communities in underserved rural areas”, remarked Arshad.
