BANK PEMBANGUNAN CELEBRATED FOR TRANSFORMATIVE COMMUNITY AND EDUCATION INITIATIVES AT SUSTAINABILITY AND CSR MALAYSIA AWARDS 2024

 

 

Kuala Lumpur, 18 July 2024 - Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) proudly announces its recognition as the “Bank of the Year (Development Bank): Community and Education Empowerment” at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2024. This prestigious accolade underscores BPMB’s transformative initiatives in education and community development, highlighting its pivotal role in Malaysia’s socio-economic transformation.

 

The award ceremony, held at the Berjaya Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, was organized by CSR Malaysia Publications to honour corporations that excel in promoting sustainable economies and serving the needy through impactful CSR initiatives. Endorsed by Pertubuhan Amal Tanggungjawab Kemapanan Dan Korporat Malaysia, the event celebrates companies that act as catalysts for positive change in the socio-economic landscape.

 

Roni Abdulwahab, Group Chief Executive Officer of BPMB, stated, “Balancing social impact and economic growth is at the heart of our organization's mission. Our vision extends beyond financial transactions; we're committed to delivering impact capital for national development.”

 

Sainursalwa Sani, Chief Human Resource Officer of BPMB, who received the award on behalf of BPMB, added, “This award demonstrates our team’s dedication and the significant impact of our initiatives on the community. We will continue to strive for excellence in all our CSR efforts.”

 

BPMB’s CSR initiatives focus on four key pillars: community development, women empowerment, financial literacy, and environmental sustainability through its foundation, Amanah Lestari Alam (ALAM). ALAM was established under the guidance of the Ministry of Finance and channels BPMB’s efforts towards environmental conservation and empowering youth to engage in eco-friendly activities.

 

CSR Malaysia Awards 2024 recognized a total of 60 companies, and 6 personalities across various categories for their contributions to sustainability and CSR.
