BANK PEMBANGUNAN MALAYSIA BERHAD PAVES THE WAY FOR LOCAL STATE-OF-THE-ART DATA CENTRE

Wednesday, 6 March 2024, Kuala Lumpur - Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (Bank Pembangunan) today announced its support in advancing Malaysia’s digital infrastructure with the provision of Tawarruq Asset Financing Facilities totaling RM253.5 million to Pi Data Centre Sdn Bhd (“PiDC”) for the construction of a state-of-the-art Tier III Data Centre in Cyberjaya, Selangor.

Roni Abdulwahab, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Bank Pembangunan, expressed his enthusiasm about the project, stating, “Bank Pembangunan is proud to contribute to Malaysia’s digital transformation journey by supporting the construction of this cutting-edge data centre. PiDC is designed to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver and GreenRe Gold certifications, demonstrating its commitment to eco-friendly practices in design, construction, and operations. Additionally, PiDC plans to provide industry training and exposure to students from vocational training institutes and universities, contributing to the development of a skilled workforce and fostering innovation in the digital sector.
