Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) in partnership with Pusat Pungutan Zakat (PPZ) under Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP) contributed approximately RM25, 000 worth of basic food assistance to the asnaf community.

This initiative is part of BPMB’s series of basic food aid assistance programme totalling approximately RM100, 000 – expected to benefit approximately 1,400 asnaf families.

The aim of this donation is to help alleviate the burden of the asnaf community, in particular those impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in the loss of their source of income and affecting the provision of basic daily food.

The receivers of the basic food aid packs (dry and wet) were the community of Perumahan Awam Seri Perak, Sentul under the ‘Projek Bakul Rezeki Khaira PPZ-BPMB,’ and to the community of Perumahan Awam Sungai Bonus under the ‘Projek Lori Rezeki Khaira PPZ BPMB.’

“The collaboration with PPZ-MAIWP is one of BPMB’s efforts to carry out our duties as a responsible financial institution to aid the less fortunate, especially those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This is our very first collaboration with PPZ-MAIWP and we hope that our humble contribution can help ease the burden of those in need.

We are hopeful for a lasting partnership with PPZ-MAIWP as we remain committed to continuing to give back to society. We hope more corporate companies can come together, hand-in-hand to do our part as responsible corporate citizens by championing the needs of the asnaf community so that we can all weather through this challenging period together,” President/Group Chief Executive Officer of BPMB, Arshad Mohamed Ismail expressed.
