Bank Pembangunan ties up with China Construction Bank

Bank Pembangunan Malaysai Berhad (BPMB) today announced a strategic collaboration with China Construction Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (CCBM) and China Construction Bank Corporation Labuan Branch (CCBL).

The collaboration on one of the thrusts under BPMB’s three-year Strategic Plan for 2020-2022 and is expected to facilities cooperation in financing strategic projects in Malaysia.

BPMB, represented by Chairman Zaiton Mohd Hassan and president/group chief executive officer Arshad Mohamed Ismail, today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CCBM and CCBL which was represented by chief executive officer and CCBL principal officer Felix Feng Qi. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

“The MoU will provide BPMB a platform for regional reach and pave the way for syndication, knowledge sharing and technical assistance. Furthermore, it will allow the transfer of knowledge among all parties particularly in the areas of CCBM’s and CCBL’s green strategy and BPMB’s project evaluation and impact assessment frameworks,” said Arshad.

Meanwhile Qi added that CCB was honored to collaborate with BPMB, a leading development financial institution, to develop the strategic sectors of the economy in Malaysia.

“Under the MoU, there will be a lot of sharing of knowledge and experience, as well as other cooperative and collaborative initiatives such as the ‘CCB Match Plus’ a business-to-business (B2B) smart matchmaking platform established by China Construction Bank Corporation.”
