Business Today - Bank Pembangunan Awarded Power/Utilities Deal Of The Year For Their

RM 2.7 Billion Syndicated Term Financing Deal

 

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 August 2022

 

Bank Pembangunan was accorded an award for its participation in the Pulau Indah Power Plant RM2.7 billion syndicated term financing deal which won the Power/Utilities Deal of the Year for Malaysia at the recent The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards 2022.

Roni L. Abdulwahab, Group CEO of BPMB Group shared, “We are delighted to be part of Pulau Indah Power Plant’s development and one of the recipients of this prestigious award. As a Development Financial Institution, our priority is to deliver impact capital to support strategic and sustainable national development. With the implementation of our impact assessment framework on this project, known as Measuring Impact on National Development (MIND), we were able to accomplish this.”

Anchored on selected United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, the MIND framework was jointly developed with the World Bank Group in collaboration with various Malaysian ministries as an end-to-end framework that quantifies development impact to complement with the bank’s current credit evaluation process.

The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards honour institutions and deals that have made a significant contribution to sustainable infrastructure development in Asia from January to December of each year.
