Tuan Syed Hussain was appointed to the Board on October 6, 2008. He graduated from Brighton College of Technology, United Kingdom with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering in 1966. He joined Telekom Malaysia in 1967 and served the company in various capacities including Assistant Director (Central Region) from 1967 to 1986; Deputy General Manager (Central Region) from 1988 to 1989; General Manager (Eastern Region) from 1989 to 1994; General Manager, Network Fundamental Planning from 1997 to 1998 and Chief Network Technology from 1997 to 1998. After his retirement from Telekom Malaysia in 1998, Tuan Syed Hussain was re-employed by the same company as a Technical Advisor, Network Group and Regulatory from 1998 until early 2002. Thereafter, he was attached to Telkom South Africa as the Senior Manager (Fixed Interconnect) from 2002 to 2004 and he was the Technical Advisor (Regulatory) to Telekom Malaysia from 2004 to 2005. Tuan Syed Hussain is also a director of Rapid KL Berhad.
